Why Savage Thoughts? I was blessed to have a unique name like Savage. You don't hear that often. No one ever believed me when I said my name. They thought I was just telling people my Facebook name. No. Savage is my name. It's a name I've learned to embrace over the years. One way of embracing it is by using it to my advantage. I used the title, Savage Thoughts not only to state that these are my thoughts, but to tell the reader it can get crazy. I've been known to have a sharp tongue and to speak my mind therefore making my title Savage Thoughts such a great idea. However, what about Deonte? Deonte Savage is a Freshman Political Science major at Morehouse College. He was born and raised in Brick City better known as Newark, NJ. While in Newark, NJ he attended one of the oldest performing arts public high schools in the country, Arts High School. Earlier than then that, he attended Newark Boys Chorus School. As you can probably see, music has been his foundation. Between Arts High School, NBCS, and even singing in the church choir, he has been fully trained musically. In addition to these institutions, he joined an male acapella group, "Gifted" Through Gifted he performed for the McCafe Tours, The Circle of Sisters, McDonald's Gospel Fest, Beth Israel Hospital, as well as many different churches. Music has been the only constant thing in his life. Music gave him the opportunity to sing all over the world, places like: Spain, Portugal, Canada, and several states in the US. Through music he gained not only musicality or skill but attributes such as confidence, discipline, and determination. Music is his alarm clock. It's what wakes him up every morning. The music industry is not promised to any of us out here, so through the years he developed another interest in law. His passion for speaking up for people who weren't able to speak for themselves as well as arguing made it clear that being a lawyer wasn't so far fetched. Law school as well as the title "Esquire" are all apart of his future goals. This is just a little bit of Deonte. Stay tuned and you'll come to learn more and more about him.
